Dale Schaefer, age 90, of Archer City, Texas passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015, in Wichita Falls.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home with Rev. Rebecca Grogan of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home.

Dale was born March 25, 1924 in San Antonio, Texas to George and Mary Schaefer.

He graduated from McAllen High School and then honorably served his country in the Marines during World War II.

Dale married the love of his life, Rose Mary Rawlings, on November 6, 1947 in McAllen, Texas and spent sixty-seven wonderful years together.

He began working for Continental Pipeline Company, also known as Conoco, in 1946. He had worked in numerous positions throughout the company including roustabout, construction crew, pipeline inspections and finally a gauger. In 1985, Dale retired after thirty-nine years of service.

Dale attended First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and giving animals a loving home.

Survivors include, his wife, Rose of Archer City; two daughters, Sherry Kelley and husband, Melton of Salada, Texas and Dalene Moeller and husband, Darrell of New Braunfels, Texas; one sister, Sister Mary Geralda Schaefer of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Julie Lowack, Tommy Lowack, Staci Kelley, Cody Kelley and Ross Martin; and five great-grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Lowack on August 6, 2010.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Gilmore, Melton Kelley, Tommy Lowack, Vinson Lowack, Jr., Ross Martin, Darrell Moeller and Tim Wilson.
