Cody Alan Stephens, age 34, of Archer City, Texas, passed away Monday, July 3, 2023, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater of Archer City officiating.  Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Cody was born July 6, 1988 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Jerry Alan Stephens and Kimberly Sue Moberly Stephens.

He grew up in Elbert, Texas.  Cody started school in Newcastle and transferred to Olney, where he graduated in 2006.  After high school, he attended Weatherford College where he studied Animal Reproduction.

Cody married Candace Nicole Huffman on October 15, 2011 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Cody worked in the oilfield until 2013 when he returned to the family business of ranching and farming, alongside his dad in the Elbert area.  Cowboying was his passion in life.

He served on the board of directors for the Archer County Livestock Show for several years, where he was currently serving as Vice-President.

Cody was very active in the lives of his children and had coached girls softball and little league baseball.

He was a member of the Elbert Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Candace of the home; one daughter, Kadence Morgan Huffman of Archer City; two sons, Kalan McCoy Stephens and Kanton Mark Stephens both of Archer City; his parents, Alan and Kim Stephens of Elbert; his maternal grandmother, Judy Moberly of Olney; one sister, Lindsey McDonald and husband, Andy of Santa Fe, Texas; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, in-laws and a multitude of friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William P. "Bill" Stephens, Jr., Lynda Bernhardt and Dr. Harry F. Moberly, Jr.

The family suggests memorials to the Archer County Junior Livestock Show, P.O. Box 1731, Archer City, Texas 76351 or the Archer City Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 367, Archer City, Texas 76351.
