Clifford Jay Farris, age 87, of Petrolia, Texas passed away Monday, July 11, 2022, in Petrolia.

At his request, there will be no services. Arrangement are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Clifford was born November 18, 1934 in Mertzon, Texas to the late Robt. E. Farris and Clara Elizabeth Sherrod Farris.

He graduated from Big Lake, Texas.  He then proudly served his country in the United States Army.

He married Martha Nan Bates in Waurika, Oklahoma.  She preceded him in death on March 25, 2014.

He was also preceded in death by his daughters, Kelley Farris on November 8, 2015 and Vickie Wood on February 14, 2021.

Clifford was an excellent athlete and played semi-pro basketball for a few years.  He loved golf and working in his yard.  Clifford was a member of the Assembly of God.

Survivors include one son, Scottie Wilson and wife, Roma of Archer City; six grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
