Carl Gene White, age 70, of Archer City passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 in the Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, Texas with Ronnie Guess, Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church of Ranger, officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Carl was born June 15, 1943 in Ranger, Texas to Carl Eugene White, Sr. and Nettie Helen Hatfield White.
He graduated in 1961 and joined the Army where he proudly served his country for five years. He then began building houses until 1984 when he became employed for the railroad. He was a foreman on the track gang until he was injured and had to retire. He moved to Archer City and opened J & T Barbecue and later the Chalk Hill Grill where he worked until his retirement. He was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Ranger. His favorite pastime was hunting and fishing.
He and Tommie Jean Huddleston were married in 1983 in Ranger. She preceded him in death on March 5, 2002.
Survivors include one daughter, Misti Berend and fiancé, Joe Burton of Archer City; one brother, Charles White of Ranger, Texas; one sister, Linda Miller and husband, Joe of Wichita Falls; and one grandson, Tanner Aldridge of Archer City.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Donnie White.
