Birnell Sipple, age 92, of Electra, Texas passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2020, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, 2020, at Electra Memorial Park with Pastor Ryan Vanderland of the First Baptist Church officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Birnell  was born August 12, 1927 in Vernon, Texas to the late Felix Boyd Marshall and Birdie Christine Campbell Marshall.

She graduated from Stinnett High School and then went into Nurses Training.  Birnell worked in several hospitals in Pampa and Borger.  When she moved to Electra, she worked for Dr. Fish until his retirement in 1980.

Birnell married Warren Copenhaver in 1947.  He preceded her in death on March 29, 1973.  She then married Ed Sipple on April 1, 1975 in Lawton, Oklahoma.  He preceded her in death on August 12, 2012.

Birnell was very active in her community with the VFW Auxiliary, the Electra Hospital Auxiliary and the  Electra Senior Citizens delivering Meals on Wheels.  She loved animals and loved reading.  Birnell was a member of the First Baptist Church of Electra.

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Dye of Electra; four step-children, Harold Sipple of California, Eddie Sipple of Electra, Debbie Peterson  and husband, Terry of North Richland Hills, and Cathy Jane Nefiodow and husband, Max of Foley, Alabama; one sister, Eileen Wilborn of Austin, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Birnell was also preceded in death by one son James Eric Copenhaver on February 4, 2019.
