Billy Fish, age 90, of San Antonio, Texas passed away Tuesday evening, September 19, 2017, in San Antonio.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017, in the Archer City Cemetery with Jon Curry, Pastor of Grace Community Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Monday, September 25, 2017 at Aulds Funeral Home.
Billy Jean was born December 6, 1926 in Archer City to Jim Fish and Eula Dee Whitaker Fish.
Billy was a graduate of Archer City High School. After graduation, the following Monday twenty-six classmates went to Dallas and were inducted in the United States Army. Billy proudly served his country during World War II. After his tour of duty, he returned to Archer City.
He married the love of his life, Patsy Enavee Cross on June 24, 1948 in Archer City. She preceded him in death on June 25, 2015. Before her death, she made sure that Billy's obituary was written for him.
Billy was a bus driver for Continental Trailways for twenty-five years and later for Greyhound Bus Lines until his retirement in 1994. After retirement, he drove a courtesy van for Lincoln Mercury Auto Company.
Survivors include two sons, Billy Jean Fish, Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, and James Patrick Fish and wife, Joy of Fort Worth, Texas; one daughter, Eva Jeanne Fish of Mt. Pleasant, Texas; two sisters, Jimmie Dee Ashton and Aretas Kathleen Spruiell, both of Iowa Park; and four grandchildren, Shannon L. Fish Garcia of San Antonio, Brittany D. Fish of the Woodland, Texas, April Joy Fish of Fort Worth, Texas and Michael D. Fish of Boyd, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Red Cross, P.O. Box 37839, Boone, IA 50037-0839.
