Billy B. "Bill" Kinsey, age 79, of Archer City, Texas passed away July 31, 2014 in Wichita Falls.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 4, 2014, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Jon Curry, Pastor of Grace Community Church of Archer City, Curtis Knobloch of Archer City and Mike Sanders, Pastor of Crossroads Church of Greenville, Texas officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Aulds Funeral Home.
Bill was born July 26, 1935 in Buffalo Springs, Texas to Finis Lee Kinsey and Lena Mae Kuykendall Kinsey. He graduated from Antelope High School.
He married the love of his life, Bertie Duke, on June 4, 1955 in Houston, Texas.
Bill was a former resident of Louisiana, Jakarta, Indonesia and Dallas before moving to Archer City in 1979. He was an active member of Grace Community Church where he served on the board and Texas Farm Bureau. He also was a member of Drilling DCW's Four Mile Club and received an achievement award for exceptional service to the American Petroleum Industry.
Bill was employed as a consultant for Anadarko Oil Company from 1987 until his retirement in 2013.
He was the Vice President of International Drilling for Diamond Shamrock where he saved hundreds of lives with his initiative, superior skills and wise decisions. Bill worked throughout the world drilling wells and held the record for drilling the deepest well in the Gulf of Mexico.
Bill loved his girls and grandchildren and gave the greatest Kubota rides.
Survivors include his wife, Bertie Kinsey of Archer City; four daughters, Billie Joe Mullins and husband, Ron of Archer City, Janet Lee Kinsey of Lafayette, Louisiana, Tina Harrington of Houston, Texas, and Angela Kinsey of Los Angeles, California; his mother, Lena Mae Kinsey of Archer City; one sister, Louise Rux and husband, Sonny of Archer City; and six grandchildren, Joshua Harrington, John Mark Mullins, Brittany Martinez, Caleb Harrington, James Martinez, and Isabel Lieberstein.
He was preceded in death by his father, Finis on May 6, 1992 and his brother, Carl Kinsey on July 17, 2002.
