Billie Burks, age 71, of Archer City, Texas passed away Sunday evening, December 21, 2014 in Wichita Falls.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2014, at Aulds Funeral Home with Dale Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Aulds Funeral Home.

Billie was born February 23, 1943 in Crowell, Texas to the late Alvie Clyde Gentry and Minerva Ellen Selder Gentry.

She moved to Archer City in 1951 and attended Archer City High School.

She and Don Burks were married June 11, 1960 in Archer City. He preceded her in death on May 14, 1985. She then married David Devrow on June 4, 2001 in Archer City.

Billie was employed at the Wichita Falls State Hospital as a security guard until her retirement. She was a member of Texoma Cowboy Church. She loved to quilt, sew, listen to audio books and watch John Wayne movies.

Billie was a very special person and her heart was as big as her appetite for life. Billie loved her family very much and never met a stranger. Her generosity was matched by none and would give you her last dollar or last bite of food.

Survivors include her husband, David Devrow of Archer City; son, Billy Burks and wife, Karen of Archer City; two daughters, Christi Burks and partner, Rickey Tollison of Hohenwald, Tennessee; and Becky Burks of Mesquite, Texas; one brother, Jack Gentry and wife, Janell of Sweeny, Texas; two grandchildren, Dustin and Brittni and husband, Drew; and one great-grandson, Kade.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Lois Beesinger on March 15, 2013.
