Archer City

Bill Loftis, age 69, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Archer City, passed away November 9, 2013 at his residence.

Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Aulds Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Pursley of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Wichita Falls officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday until service time.

Bill was born July 24, 1944 in Archer City to Roy Posey Loftis and Eleanor Lucille Prater Loftis.

He and Sandra Claburn were married July 2, 1966 in Archer City, Texas.

Bill served in the National Guard Reserve. He was the owner and operator of the Archer City Meat Market and the Uptown Meat Market in Wichita Falls. Since 1996, he was employed at Times Record News as the dock coordinator and the transportation manager. He love fishing and camping. Bill lived for his kids and grandkids.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Loftis of Wichita Falls; one daughter, Teri Burnett and husband, Mike of Wylie, Texas; one son, Dusty Loftis and wife, Brianna of Wichita Falls; one brother, Eddie Loftis and wife, Patsy of Scotland, Texas; three sisters, Margaret Ann Goodin and husband, Johnny of Kilgore, Texas, Jeanie Carriger and husband, Charles of Archer City, and Carolyn Berend and husband, Rick of Windthorst; five grandchildren, Samantha Powell, Jacob Fugett, Taylor Burnett, Sydney Burnett and Serenity Hoyer; and one great-grandson, Abel Powell.

Serving as pallbearers will be John Beard, Jacob Fugett, Dusty Loftis, Eddie Loftis, Derek Whitney, and Jimmy York.

Bill was preceded in death by one daughter, Tina Loftis on December 7, 1985 and two sisters, Judy Elliott and Lillian Belyeu.
