Betty Lou Perkins Chambles, age 78, of Archer City, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, in the Archer City Nursing Center.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home with Paul DeLuca, Chaplain of Hospice of Wichita Falls, officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Betty was born May 25, 1936 to William Olin Perkins, Sr. and Hazel Marie Tress Perkins in Megargel, Texas.
She graduated from Archer City High School.
She and Don Chambles were married May 3, 1958 in Wichita Falls. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1992.
Betty was employed as a bookkeeper for Whites Stores and then Oilfield Service until her retirement in 1991. She was a lifetime member of Faith Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include daughter, Barbara "Barbie" Box and husband, Lee of Holliday; two sisters, Polly Malone and husband, Kenneth of Wichita Falls, and Kay East of Archer City; one brother, W.O. "Punk" Perkins, Jr. and wife, Marqueta of Archer City; four grandchildren, Billy Wayne Ostermann and wife, Sheree of Cornersville, Tennessee, Jody Lang and husband, Matt of Wichita Falls, Bray Chambles of Albany, and Mark Box of Paducah; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Billy Don Chambles on February 25, 2013; three brothers, Wes, J.B. "Doc" and Ernest Perkins; and one sister, Mildred Eustace.
