Betsy Stewart Gibson, age 65, of Archer City, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in Wichita Falls.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, at the First Christian Church with Bobby Dean, Pastor of First Christian Church, officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Aulds Funeral Home.

Betsy was born November 17, 1955 in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas to the late Gene Norwood Stewart and Jeweldean "Judy" Watts Stewart.

Betsy graduated from Archer City High School and then attended Cisco College where she earned her Law Enforcement Degree.  In 1975, she went to American University where she earned her Advanced Law Enforcement Degree.

Betsy married Johnny Gibson on October 16, 1982 in Allen, Texas.  He preceded her in death on October 23, 2012.

She loved riding horses and spending time in her beautiful garden.  Betsy was an active member of her community and church.  Her grandchildren were the light of her life.  She was a strong woman, a kind hearted woman, joyous, and there for anyone in need.  Her laughter and sense of humor will be missed most, but held deeply in our hearts.

Betsy had been employed in the Federal Building in Dallas as a security guard.  She also was employed by the John R. Lindsey State Jail in Jacksboro for several years. Betsy was a bus driver for several school districts, including, Royse City, Greenville, Mineral Wells and Archer City.

Survivors include two daughters, Elizabeth Tennell and husband, Travis of Forney, and Emily Gibson of Mesquite; brother, Mike Stewart and wife, Judy of Archer City; sister, Gayle Cooper of Throckmorton; and three grandchildren, Natalie, Emma and Ainsley.
