Electra

Bertha L. Gentry, age 91, of Electra, Texas passed away Friday morning, February 7, 2014, in Electra.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 10, 2014, at First Assembly of God with Pastor Darwin M. Stroud officiating. Interment will follow in the Electra Memorial Park under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

Bertha was born December 8, 1922 in Gainesboro, Tennessee to Johnny C. and Maggie A. Scott.

She and W.C. Gentry were married in 1939 in Tennessee. He preceded her in death in 1989.

Bertha was a resident of Electra since 1950 and was a homemaker throughout her life. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with her many flowers and plants. She also loved children and was a babysitter for many years and was a "Mom" to numerous children of Electra.

Survivors include three sons, Weldon and Robert Gentry of Electra and Jessie Gentry of Fort Worth; two daughters, Dorothy Rodgers and Helen Vestal and husband, Johnny of Electra; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Earl Gentry; one brother; and three sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jamie DeLeon, Garrett Gentry, Robin Martin, Zach Martin, Darrell Vestal and Dauson Vestal.

The family suggests memorials to the First Assembly of God, 400 East Harrison, Electra, Texas 76360.
