Barbara "Bobbie" Glenn Gibbs, age 79, of Brownwood, formerly of Archer City, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 in Songbird Lodge in Brownwood.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City with David Williams, Chaplain of Interim Hospice in Brownwood, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
Bobbie was born August 10, 1936 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Julian Oliver "Hoot" Glenn and Mary Katherine Brewer Glenn.
After graduation, she and Bobby Gibbs were married on April 1, 1958 in Conroe, Texas. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2001.
Bobbie traveled with Bobby while working on the pipeline until 1972 when she moved back to Archer City. She loved to volunteer at the Archer Service Center, sitting with sick people and cooking. Bobbie had a heart as big as Texas and would help anyone that needed anything.
Survivors include one daughter, Sammie Poplin of Beech Island, South Carolina; one son, Tracy Gibbs and wife, Dee Dee of Brownwood, Texas; one sister, Judy Nichols and husband, Wilburn of Holliday; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Ester and Jacqueline Leree Gibbs on November 25, 1966; one son, Eddie Ross Gibbs on June 28, 1972; and one brother, Ross Glenn on February 1, 2004.
