Andrew Hambright Jr, age 59, of Iowa Park, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 22, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most.
Born on September 7, 1966, Andrew Hambright, Jr (A.D.) grew into a man known for his big heart, steady hands, and deep appreciation for the outdoors. He was never happier than when he was in the woods at sunrise or casting a line across a quiet lake. A devoted hunter and fisherman, he found peace in nature and joy in sharing those moments with family and friends.
Of all the roles he held in life, being a grandfather was the one he cherished most. His grandkids were the light of his world. Whether he was teaching them how to bait a hook, cheering them on at their activities, or simply sitting with them on the porch, he poured his whole heart into every moment. His patience, humor, and warmth made him a beloved “Papa” who will be remembered for generations.
A.D. is survived by the love of his life and soulmate, Stephanie, of 39 years; sister Sandra Hulsey; daughters, Amanda Sallee and husband, Dustin and Jessica Weaver and husband, Jarrid; grandkids Emmah & Ryan Weaver, Sawyer and Sadie Sallee; and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie and Andrew Hambright, Sr.; and siblings, Glenda Turner, Ira Hambright and Ivan Hambright.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Holliday, Texas with Roger Deerinwater, interim pastor, officiating. Family and friends are invited to share stories, memories, and the laughter he always inspired. Interment will follow in the Holliday Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
A.D.’s legacy will live on in the lessons he taught, the values he lived by, and the love he gave so freely. May his spirit rest in the peace of the great outdoors he treasured so much.
