Amy Jann Byrd, age 85, of Archer City, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at her residence.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2022, at First Baptist Church with Mikey Pesqueda, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Mark Green and Jeff Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2022, at Aulds Funeral Home.
Jann was born April 26, 1936 in Graham, Texas to W.J. Richardson and Anne Cornish Richardson.
She attended grade school and church in Westover, Texas. She graduated from Megargel High School. Jann and her horse, Sunny, attended North Texas State University in Denton. They represented Denton at the Fort Worth Fat Stock Show.
Jann was a life-long Methodist and later attended the First Baptist Church of Archer City. She was a Sunday school teacher, teaching nearly all ages.
She married Cecil W. Fletcher on December 8, 1956 in Wichita Falls. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1996. She then married Cliff Byrd on August 19, 2009.
Jann worked for Archer County as a Deputy Clerk for eighteen years, serving under three different clerks.
Jann served as the Secretary-Treasurer of the Archer Public Library Board helping with several fund raisers to get the library in its present building in 1991. She also was a volunteer for Hospice of Wichita Falls.
Survivors include her husband, Cliff Byrd of Archer City; three sons, Will Fletcher of Archer City, Jeff Fletcher and wife, Sherry of Santo, and Dick Fletcher and wife, Peggy of Roland, Arkansas; two daughters-in-love, Mary Sue Owen and husband, David of Archer City and Becky Schroeder and husband, Matt of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Tom Richardson and wife, Gay of Seymour and John Richardson and wife, Janet of Sanger; two sisters-in-law, Annie Fields of Odessa and Jann Finnegan and husband, Bill of Winterville, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her brother Jack Richardson and his wife, Burly Richardson
