Darlene Schneider Rogers, age 68, of Jolly, Texas passed away February 18, 2013, in Hospice of Wichita Falls.

A vigil service and rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst, Texas. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst with Rev. Richard Collins of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Henrietta officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Windthorst under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Darlene was born October 30, 1944 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Bernard Edward “Ben” Schneider and Mary Agnes Zihlman Schneider.

She graduated from Windthorst High School in 1963 and then attended Draughon’s Business College. Darlene was the owner and operator of a child care center in Wichita Falls for several years. She began traveling extensively with her family.

In 1989, she returned to Texas and was employed for over twenty years at the Clinics of North Texas.

Darlene was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Henrietta. She loved to play Bunko. Darlene was a volunteer at the Royal Theater in Archer City and the Lazy Boy Supper Club. She was a wonderful mother and friend.

Survivors include two sons, Ben Rogers of Tallahassee, Florida and Nathan Rogers of Jolly; one sister, Donna Fonville and husband, Les of Jolly; one niece, Stephanie Dishman and husband, Jim of Dean, Texas; two nephews, Jon Keller and wife, Michelle of Wichita Falls, and Charlie Fonville and wife, Lauren of Los Angeles, California; and one great-nephew, Brandon Dishman of Dean; and one brother-in-law, Steve Keller of Jacksonville, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Mary Ann Keller in 1995.

The family suggests memorials to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310, St. Mary’s Catholic Church 105 South Barrett Street, Henrietta, Texas 76365; or to the charity of your choice.
